Constructing a Two-Dimensional Face Edge Curve

The function

MbResultType FaceBoundSegment( const MbFace & face,
                                     size_t      loopInd,
                                     size_t      edgeInd,
                               const MbSurface & surface,
                                     VERSION     version,
                                     MbCurve *&  result );

constructs a projection of a face edge onto a surface.

The input parameters of the function are:

  • face — a face;

  • loopInd — an index of the loop in the face containing the edge to project;

  • edgeInd — an index of the edge to project within the loop;

  • surface — a projection surface;

  • version — a construction version.

The output parameter of the function is the constructed curve result.

If successful, the function returns rt_Success; otherwise, it returns an error code from the enumeration MbResultType.

The function is declared in the file action_curve.h.

The function constructs the projection of the face edge face onto the surface surface. The edge in the face is specified by the face loop index loopInd and the edge index within the loop edgeInd. The curve result is constructed in the parameter space of the surface surface. Figure shows an example of constructing the projection of a face edge onto a given surface:

In the test application test.exe, constructing curves of surface-plane intersection is performed using the menu command “Create→Curve in space→Based on a solid→Edges projections on a face”.
