Local Coordinate System MbPlacement
The MbPlacement() class is declared in the mb_placement.h file.
The local coordinate system MbPlacement() is used to define the position and orientation of objects in two-dimensional space and to construct transformation matrices MbMatrix. The local coordinate system MbPlacement() in two-dimensional space is described by the origin point origin and two non-parallel vectors axisX and axisY:
In most cases the coordinate system is right-handed and its vectors are orthonormal. By applying transformations the coordinate system may become left-handed and non-orthonormal. The state of the local coordinate system can be queried by the methods:
bool IsLeft() – whether the coordinate system is left-handed;
bool IsSingle() – whether the coordinate system coincides with the one in which it is defined;
bool IsNormal() – whether the coordinate system is orthonormal;
bool IsCircular() – whether the coordinate system is orthogonal with the axes axisX and axisY of equal length, in which a circle remains a circle;
bool IsIsotropic() – whether the coordinate system is orthogonal with the axes axisX and axisY of equal length, in which objects are not distorted but only scaled;
bool IsAffine() – whether the coordinate system is affine (otherwise the system is orthonormal).
The local coordinate system is Cartesian.
