Curve Extension

The function

MbResultType ExtendCurve( const MbCurve3D &                    sourceCurve,
                          const MbCurveExtensionParameters3D & parameters,
                                SPtr<MbWireFrame> &            resFrame );

extends the given curve in accordance with the specified parameters.

The function parameters are:

  • sourceCurve - the source (extendable) curve;

  • parameters - the extension parameters (for the definition of the MbCurveExtensionParameters3D class and its constructors, see op_curve_parameter.h);

  • resFrame - the operation result. It is a wireframe, covering the source curve completely. Additionally, it includes an “extending segment”. The wireframe contains the MbExtendCurveCreator creator declared in the cr_extending_curve.h file.

The function is declared in the action_curve3d.h file.

In the test application test.exe, curve extension is performed via the menu command “Modify→Curve in space→Extend”.

It is recommended to wrap the original curve in a wireframe and call the ExtendWireFrame() function, detailed in subsection Wireframe Extension.
