The Chinese engineering software market is embracing Russian products, opening the eastern gates for business with the Middle Kingdom.
Not resting on its laurels in China, C3D Labs participated in a large-scale expo for the third time. In November 2025, the C3D kernel was presented at the 27th China Hi-Tech Fair in Shenzhen at a dedicated booth in the H12 New Quality Productivity pavilion. There were 20 pavilions covering research, heavy equipment, educational technologies, AI, power industry, transportation, electronics, construction, and more.
China Hi-Tech Fair (CHTF) is China's largest technology exhibition, attracting leading companies from around the world. The event's motto, Technology Leads Development. Industry Integrates Fusion emphasizes its concept: technology and industry together drive international trade. This is a key venue to showcase Chinese and global IT achievements and promote international cooperation. In 2025, CHTF occupied 400,000 m2 and attracted more than 5,000 international companies from 100 countries.
The C3D Labs team goes to international exhibitions to communicate with our target audience: CAD/CAM/CAE/PLM developers. In-person meetings are the best way to learn the needs and objectives of potential customers in a particular region. Cultural and language barriers can hamper online communication, whereas face-to-face meetings promote subsequent collaboration.
The Chinese audience is eager to meet C3D Labs experts in person and learn more about the C3D Toolkit solution. China’s interest in the C3D kernel is growing as more companies are starting to develop engineering software to support the country's technological sovereignty. Technologies from C3D Labs are unparalleled. Our colleagues worldwide trust in our team's expertise in mathematics and software development.
C3D Labs is well established in the Chinese online environment. We have created and maintain a WeChat channel (with over 520 subscribers), localized marketing content (brochures, presentations, and videos) into Chinese, and collaborate with local CAD bloggers. Even without a local partner, we successfully organized our first seminar at the CHTF Expo in Shenzhen on our own. It was not easy since the Chinese market is closed and very special. There are many unique features related to the local culture, language, and mindset. During the exhibition, our WeChat channel audience grew by 50%, confirming that in-person communication has a direct impact on the online environment.
At the seminar, the C3D Labs team members highlighted three key topics.
- C3D Labs Overview: Our experience with the development of engineering software components and support for CAD/EDA/CAE customers worldwide
- C3D Toolkit Overview
- Rapid Development of CAD Applications Using C3D Toolkit master class.
We would like to extend our special thanks to Evgeny Sukhanov, Digital Attaché in China, for his invaluable assistance in preparing the seminar and his overall support of our operations in China.
The C3D kernel is expanding its market share in China. Local engineering software developers have shown keen interest in our solutions. Step by step, C3D Labs is becoming more accessible and easier to understand for local users of C3D tools.
Below, the C3D Labs team members share their feedback on the China Hi-Tech Fair 2025 expo. Each visit offers valuable insights into China.
Maxim Kulagin, Head of Technical Support and Testing, C3D Labs:
“China, as usual, amazes with its grand scale; the CHTF expo was huge. The key trends were robots of all kinds and AI. As for engineering software, Western CAD systems are widely used in China, but there is a need for a domestic system of a similar level. There is also a specific requirement to provide Chinese-language localization and technical support. I want to emphasize this, as many Chinese users do not have a strong command of English, and translation in such a specialized subject area is quite challenging even for professional translators. Despite these problems, there is a strong interest in our products”.
Daniil Kalmykov, Sales Support Engineer, C3D Labs:
“When you arrive in China, you find yourself in a high-tech country with a strong engineering tradition. You are surrounded by impressive human achievements, from the heavy flow of e-vehicle traffic to the massive offices of global corporations. Shenzhen, which hosted CHTF, is just a large metropolis, but a real powerhouse of innovations.
The scale of the event is astonishing: you travel three metro stations just to get from one end of the expo center to the other. We were busy working at the booth, and even if we had wanted to, we wouldn’t have been able to see everything. The companies used all sorts of attention-grabbing displays: robot battles, generative neural networks, spinning robot dogs, AI-enabled robotaxis, and a thousand other “robo-” and “AI-” innovations.
Such events are great to broaden one’s professional outlook, establish new strategic alliances that bring together capital and human resources, and, most importantly, launch new joint projects. We met with many representatives from various industries and IT companies. Each meeting is an opportunity to learn about the challenges local businesses face and, potentially, address these needs with Russian technologies. It is no secret that the vast Chinese market offers tremendous opportunities. It is highly promising and attractive for both investments and market presence.
As one might expect, working with Chinese partners can be challenging due to language barriers and different mindsets, but these challenges pale in comparison to the rapid pace of technological advancement in China. Engineering software is one of the pillars behind such breakthroughs. The foundation of this software lies in components like C3D Toolkit”.

Denis Statsenko, Head of Product Marketing Department, C3D Labs:
“The CHTF highlight was the seminar we organized for our Chinese colleagues. We had online registration, but since it was our first seminar, we didn’t know how many people would actually attend.
At 10:00, when the event began, there were only four people in the hall. However, during the first presentation, the room was filled, and we even had to give up our seats for the guests.
We talked about C3D Labs, presented our products, and held a short master class. Thanks to our excellent interpreter, we were able to complete the entire agenda in just over an hour. We answered a few questions and then concluded the official part of the event. The most interesting part happened afterward. Our lively and meaningful discussions continued for another two hours, with conversations held in small groups so we could speak with each guest.
The guests were genuinely interested and asked many questions. These talks with potential customers and partners were particularly useful and productive. The guests praised Russian mathematical research and also noted that Golovanov’s book Geometric Modeling is very difficult to find in China. They also expressed interest in filleting procedures.
China has its own CAD systems based on local technologies. Since these systems have not yet reached a global level, we have excellent opportunities to grow by offering our technologies and components in this market”.
