.. role:: blue :class: blue Constructing a Smoothed Surface =============================== .. _Constructing_a_Smoothed_Surface_: .. kernel version: 118058 The function .. code-block:: cpp MbResultType SplineSurfaceSmoothing( const MbSplineSurface & surface, size_t udegree, size_t vdegree, MbSplineSurface *& result ); smooths a copy of the source surface. The input parameters of the function are: - **surface** - the source spline surface; - **udegree** - the new order of the spline surface in the first surface parameter; - **vdegree** - the new order of the spline surface in the second surface parameter. The output parameter of the function is the smoothed copy of the source surface **result**. If successful, the function returns :blue:`rt_Success`; otherwise, it returns an error code from the :ref:`MbResultType ` enumeration (see *mb_operation_result.h*). The function is declared in the file *action_direct.h*. The function smoothes the source surface **surface** without changing its spline orders or the number of control points. The smoothing is controlled by the **udegree** and **vdegree** parameters, which must be greater than the corresponding spline orders of the source surface. Figure shows the source NURBS surface **surface** and the smoothed surface **result**: .. figure:: /MODELER/DIRECT_MODELING_METHODS/pictures/M.6.5.1.png :width: 15cm :align: center
