.. role:: blue :class: blue .. kernel version: 118061 IFC Import ================ .. _IFC_Import_: When importing IFC, it is possible to obtain IFC‑specific data types: - named planar axes (:blue:`NextAxesGrid`\()); - items that bound a volume (:blue:`NextBoundaryItem`\()); - reusable items (:blue:`NextMappedItem`\(), see :ref:`ItModelPart and ItModelAssembly Interfaces `). To obtain this data, the model must be imported into :blue:`ItModelDocument`. In the case of import into :blue:`MbItem` or :blue:`MbModel`, the domain specific is not taken into account, and the listed types are converted to ordinary geometric objects. Using reusable items is similar to using regular instances in an assembly, with the difference that in the assembly structure each inserted item is a separate logically complete part with an :blue:`MbProductInfo` attribute, whereas a reusable item is only a geometric block (for example, a fence fragment that forms a complete fence when instantiated multiple times). Items that bound a volume are essentially not standalone geometric objects. They are a set of geometric data that defines the boundaries of a volume, for example a room or a terrace. Such items can be filtered during import by using :blue:`SetIoPermission`\( iop_rBounds ). Construction axis groups are planar objects that represent axes and have attributes, including axis names. When importing IFC, as well as other construction formats (nwd, rvt, rvm, sp, etc.), it is possible to import metadata (see :ref:`Import of Construction Format Metadata `).
